Bo Kaap-Cape Town

Image
With Signal Hill standing proudly at the backdrop, the houses of Bo-Kaap are very bright and colourful. A lot of people consider the area to be one of the trendiest areas of Cape Town. De Waterkant, the neighbouring town of Bo kaap is a fine example of transformation of a city into one of the most voguish and expensive areas over the recent areas. Some of the finest restaurants and wine bars are situated here and now you could understand why it was on our top list when we booked our flights to South Africa . Reaching early on fine Saturday morning last week, we took a trail along the corner of Buitengracht and Wale Street and walked towards the Signal Hill which lead to Bo-Kaap. It was a fine evening and i was sitting in the porch of my house after returning from office.  A cup of hot coffee in one hand and handset in other, having spent half an hour with my friend on call both of us finally decided that our next vacation would be to Kolmanskop ghost town at Nambia in Africa as we had heard a lot about the creepy place. Disconnecting the call, I immediately booked the air tickets to Africa to avail  discounts if any. Our trip was planned for next weekend and we hit the ghost town early in the morning that weekend to make the maximum of the trip. Right outside the coastal city of Luderitz in Nambia, lies this old German mining town of Kolmanskop which was long deserted by life and it was quite explicit in the view of the place. As far as the eyes went there was no evidence of life. All looked so barren and forsaken. Whole of the town was engulfed by the Namib Desert. The huge edifices and houses depicting German architecture lied empty and ...

Image
While planning a four days tour to the trendiest destination of Mauritius in Africa, a thought kept hovering over our mind that the worthiness of our expedition would certainly be questioned, if we will return without visiting the Chamarel Plain of the Riviere Noire District in south western Mauritius. We, therefore decided to pay homage to the Land of Seven Hues also, and our search for the top flights to Africa began. This famous tourist attraction in Mauritius is a somewhat small area of land, comprising of sand dunes with differentially coloured layers that never erode in spite of the pouring tropical rains. A drive amid the lush green sugarcane plantation and the subsequent coffee plantation, lead us to seven coloured earth of Mauritius but as we were moving ahead we were least aware of another excitement that awaited us on the way i.e the Waterfall of Chamarel that came few kilometres before the Chamarel Plains. It was like an icing on the much awaited seven layere...
